Wondering what to get for someone this Christmas? We’ve got a few ideas
Going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping just yet. Also thinking you’ve probably got better ways to spend the next 10 days than running around trying to find the perfect gift. So, perhaps it’s just a few well placed suggestions that will take the stress out of things for you.
For the kids – Woozles, Nurtured, Hali Kids or the Discovery Centre have just the thing – not necessarily the latest toys, but the ones that are timeless and thoughtful
For the Home – Abode, Attica, Thornbloom, Geddes Furniture are a great place to find that special something, or a beautiful new addition for your home
For the Fashionista – Biscuit General Store, Wildflower, & Canook Trading have beautiful stores filled with beautiful things
For the Hard to Buy For – The Independent Mercantile Co. & P’lovers have lots of unique gift ideas
For the Celebration – Bishop’s Cellar & Garrison Brewing can add all the fuel you need for your party
For the bling – Touch of Gold & the Vault have it all
For the Active People on your list – Aerobics First, Cleve’s Source for Sports, Cyclesmith, Giant Bicycle, Pro Skateboards & Snowboards, or Trail Shop are sure to cover off everything they want
For the lover of Hand Crafted & Creative – Amos Pewter, Argyle Fine Art, Duly Noted, Inkwell Boutique, Jennifer’s of Nova Scotia, Made in the Martimes Artisan Boutique or Nova Scotian Crystal are full of one of a kind finds.
For the Nostalgia Buff – Lost Cod Clothing Co. has something for everyone from Yarmouth to Glace Bay.
For the green thumb – winter may be on us, but spring’s around the corner and Halifax Seed has everything to make it a green one.
For a break from the Shopping – Ace Burger, 2 Doors Down, Indochine, Heartwood or Krave Burger will give you the fuel to get back out and finish your shopping.
For a night at home without having to cook or a casual evening out – Bramoso Pizzeria or Morris East are sure to please
For Stocking Stuffers – Atlantic News is the place to go – nothing says relaxing over the Holidays like your favourite magazine and a cup of egg nog
For the Literary Minded – Bookmark or the King’s University Bookstore have a great selection, and wonderful staff to help you pick out just the right tome.
For the Caffeine Lover – or even the decaf lover – Humani-T, World Tea House and Uncommon Grounds all have a great selection of coffees & teas and gifts to go.
For the health of it – Insight Optometry and Ocean Optometry – grab a new set of eyeglasses, or just some new sunglasses before your winter on the slopes or on the beach. Or how about a membership to Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio to get a jump on those New Year’s Resolutions.
For the Big Splurge – how about a new home! Harding Real Estate or Domus Realty would really love to help you out with that one.
For meeting up with friends over the Holidays – Durty Nelly’s, the Stubborn Goat, Tom’s Little Havana, the Fireside or 2 Doors Down Bar Bites will keep spirits bright.
For a unique experience – what about a photo shoot with Michelle Doucette? A Segway tour when the snow clears, a day of pampering at Spirit Spa, or a new do from Saint Lou’s Gentleman’s Barbershop?
For a night away from the Kids? Atlantica or Halliburton House can provide room at the Inn. Neptune will entertain you. Chives, the Foggy Goggle, Stories or Brooklyn Warehouse will feed you, & Obladee will provide your nightcap.
For treats on Christmas Morning or when company comes over – a selection from the Old Apothecary, Scanway Cafe, Sugah!, Rousseau Chocolatier or Rum Runners will surely wow your guests.
OK, that’s all we’ve got. If you can’t find something for everyone on that list, well maybe they really are hard to buy for.
